How much of your career have you spent learning how to use your tools? ⌛

If you’re in the world of product development, I bet it’s quite a lot.

You can’t build much with your bare hands and that pink squishy thing in your head 😆

So we learn.

We invest time, energy,

We become experts.

We take pride in our expertise,

Pride in our ability to use our tools effectively.

If we’re not careful, the process becomes the focus, rather than the product.

But that’s not engineering… that’s art. 🎨

Don’t get me wrong, art is valuable

And the process of creation is a key component of that value.

But if you’re reading this, you’re probably not an artist.

And your customers aren’t buying art

They’re buying a product.

Have you ever lost sight of the end goal because the process was so fun?

I know I have 😉

Team chat blowing up with a new problem? 💥

Everyone has an opinion, but no one has all the facts? 🤔

Step away from the screen and get to the source of the issue! 🚀

See it with your own eyes. 👀 Talk to the source. 🗣

You’d be surprised how often the problem you thought existed… just doesn’t.

But if it does, now you know what it really is.

So you can find a solution. ✅

Ever felt stuck working on an idea alone?

We often spend countless hours refining our ideas, identifying risks, and perfecting details.

But how much time do we spend seeking outside perspective?

Today, I reached out to a friend and collaborator about a new project.

I was looking for some technical advice on a specific topic, but I got so much more:

🔹Excitement and contagious energy

🔹Valuable insights from unexpected experience

🔹New connections to potential collaborators

I'm so glad I reached out! So much better than trying to do it all on my own.

Who can you connect with today to take your ideas to the next level?
